The city of Gold Coast treasures beaches and foreshores famous around the world for their unique beauty and contribution to the region’s tourism industry and which are enjoyed by many people for decades. The over 52 kilometers of ocean beaches are professionally maintained and protected by the Gold Coast City Council.

Stretching from the southern end at Rainbow Bay to Couran Cove in the north, Gold Coast City is renowned for its unique and beautiful beaches and foreshores. To ensure that these beaches and foreshores retain their sparkle, the city Council invested into a range of cleaning and management services. It also provides funding to facilitate participation in the Keep Australia Beautiful Council’s Clean Beach Challenge.

Gold Coast beaches like the Surfers Paradise earned the overall award for 2005 and Palm Beach is the only place to have won the overall award twice for the years 1999 and 2000. Tourists will surely enjoy the wonderful beaches Gold Coast City offers.
